Welcome to Beachwood
The Beachwood golf course, built in 1930, is located 12km north of Durban and is now part of Durban Country Club. The course was taken over by Durban Country Club a few years ago, and underwent renovations to bring the course up to championship level, similar to the Durban Country Club golf course. Today, the conditioning of the Beachwood course is superb, and matches that of DCC course, which is only situated a few kilometres away. The course has recently been ranked within the top 20 golf courses in South Africa by Golf Digest magazine.
Situated next to the Indian Ocean, Beachwood is a testing layout with some narrow fairways and some extremely dense bush. With over 70 bunkers and 4 water features waiting to catch any wayward shots, accuracy is a must when playing this golf course � this golf course will provide a stern test for any level of golfer. The first nine skirts a protected mangrove swamp, and the second nine borders on the Virginia Airport, which provides the golfer the excitement of watching small aircraft take off and land overhead.
